Department of Chemistry

The department of Chemistry was established in 1956. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Chemistry. In 1995 the department began offering a self financed, vocation course in Industrial Chemistry.

The department has an excellent library with books in English and Gujarati to cater to the need of the students. It has 3976 books (of which 543 are in Gujarati). The department also maintains a departmental library with 57 reference books. Industrial Chemistry has 110 books. The central library also has two journals in Chemistry.
The numbers of international publications are 11 and national level publications are 3.
