XAP
Students in the backpack journalism workshop at St. Xavier’s College created this website by splitting into eight teams, each of which worked on a multimedia project intended to explore a facet of the College’s mission and culture.
The projects were chosen by the teams, which then interviewed sources, filming interview subjects as well as other scenes that illustrated their themes. The multimedia project not only explored the themes and presented them to the public, but enabled students in the workshop to explore digital reporting, filming and editing.
Projects chosen included coverage of education for tribals, St. Xavier’s as a communication center, XAP as a business venture, the active ingredients in tradition medicine, the transition from school to college, Marquette meets St. Xavier’s, tissue culture and educating the physically challenged.
It was hoped that the broad scope of topics would enable website visitors to understand the breath of work and culture at St. Xavier’s College.
